Took a break from the LA ........ went to the sewing room and pieced two quilt tops. I decided it was time to move some of my stash . " Little Girl Pink" is what I'm naming the quilt. I love paper dolls and so does the granddaughters. The pattern came from Fons & Porter Magazine 2009.
Added a 6 1/2 border to this panel for a cute practice quilt.

Roybne just sold her quilt for $70,000..... Yep! that's right $70,000. This goes to show that our work, time, and effort that goes in to our quilts are worth every dollar and then some. I'm so happy for her .... check out her photos on her blog , they are BEAUTIFUL! http://robynefmelia.blogspot.com/

Bow Tie "The Executive"
" The Executive " doesn't that sound like a great thriller novel ???? Thought that would be a great name for this bow tie quilt. When I look at a tie I wonder what his profession was ... Lawyer, Engineer, Pilot, Doctor, CEO, Detective, CIA maybe the President!! Jane pieced the quilt from ties around the states, it's like she has a story for each tie. What patience she has ....taking them apart, washing, cutting and piecing this quilt. Me .... the ties would have stayed in the closet....lolol
I chose simple straight lines and curves seeing it is Masculine. Two batting again QD and 80/20, white thread top & bottom, the backing it white....but a dark blue thread through out the bow ties.
In the photo to the right you can see a wobble in the quilting........ my machine has a wobble to it when I get to the right side ..... for the life of me, can't figure it out, the track looks okay, upper and lower. It has done this from the first day. The only thing I thought that it may be the floor is not level, this is an older home and has flawes. I need my new studio NOW!! That will be another subject....

One Flower Wednesday
I started to paper piece after I saw Joan's blog ( joanatleschenault.blogspot.com ) where she does one flower every Wednesday. I love her blog. Decided this was a good project to work on when I was laid up with my foot ..... I think my flowers are a little to big, but that is okay, I will have a large flower garden...lol This was left over fabric in my stash, what a way to use it up. I will applique the flowers on a solid white background. This will look great in the guest room on my old iron bed. PERFECT! Thanks Joan!
(I think I'm hooked )

Fairy Dust Finished
Here she is "Fairy Dust" ..... this was a fun quilt, it just kind of speaks to you. The little tiny background fill is blue & yellow fairy dust around the fairy. It is a little hard to make out in the photo but I quilted dust around parts of her body as if she just landed. I'm sure Jane will be pleased with this quilt. I also added a flurry heart towards the bottom of the quilt. Used 80/20 and QD wool for the batting. Also added metallic variegated thread for the hair and sun rays but it doesn't show up in the photo. It adds just a little bling!
