Milwaukee Machine Quilt Show

Oh Boy! did I have a fun time shopping and chatting with old friends.  Met up with my friend Kathy, owner of "At the Heart of Quilting"  gammill dealership, her booth was quite busy.  Stop by Pam Clark's booth to say hi.   Didn't see Jamie but did talk with Linda, she was running Jamie's booth.  Bought his new "Mystical   Cotton Tracks" DVD.   It was just like being in Overland Park, Kansas at the quilt show seeing everyone again.   BEAUTIFUL! BEAUTIFUL! quilts.  I took over 300 pictures today.   Will start with my stash first....so here it goes..

This quilt was hanging in the Superior Thread booth,  it caught my eye because of the color.   Loved that thread that was used.....yummmmy!

Have 30 something UFO

How do you like this T-shirt??   DIL stated that I need to wear this ....I don't know why.    She just can not understand why I haven't finished  their quilt.....guess I better get to it.

Joanie Zeier Poole is my role model.   Joanie's quilts are amazingly "BEAUTIFUL" and so elegant.  I met her back in 2006 at the Madison Quilt Expo where she was teaching classes.   I just had to have a class with her and pick her brain,  I learned so much from her.   What an amazing artist!

MINI QUILT SWAP

These are the batik fabrics that I audition for a mini quilt swap that I entered in the APQS forum.   The fabric came from a little shop up in northern Maine..... love the colors.   Can't really say to much about my secret partner on my blog or she would know who her partner is.  This is a fun but nervous swap, there are so many beautiful quilters...... and just think I'm having a quilt made for me by another quilter..   This is a challenge for me because I have never made a mini quilt and I really don't know how to paper piece that will either, but I going to give it my best.

NEW LITTLE QUILTER BORN IN AUSTRALIA

What a little doll,   "Bella Maree"  is  Raylene's new granddaughter.   When she grows up she is going to be a famous quilter like her Grammy.    Raylene is teaching at the Australian quilt show(AMQF) in October,  crossing hatchng and how to design your quilt.   Hoping she will teach over here next year.... hint! hint!   I have learned so much from this talented "Quilter".   Check out my Aussie friend  web shots ...  http://community.webshots.com/user/raylene2911   Raylene's classes are open and ready for you to sign up.

Quilt Back

The center of the quilt back looks like a basket ........ was I clever or what!!

Pumpkin Quilt Finished

My pumpkin quilt is finally finished after two years .....yeh!   Dream Quilters wool & cotton was used for the batting.   King Tut variegated thread for the dark areas so the quilting would show and So Fine in the lighter areas.   Make a mistake in quilting the center, did not follow my drawings, had my mind on other things and was not paying attention to the design layout.   My cross hatching.... had to fill some of the spaces for the center to balance....... lesson learned.   Didn't want to unpick all the tiny stitched .....lol

NEXT UP ON THE FRAME

My Blue & Yellow quilt next on the frame.....these are quilts that I have not bee able to get quilted the past 2 years and now I'm taking the time to get everyone quilted.  (all 32)  I have two whole cloths that I would like to get at but need to work on the UFOs.    Feathers, feathers, & more feathers on this quilt......borders will have circles with more feathers.   This is a good practice quilt,  will post when finished.
