Ellie's Black & White Quilt

Here is a photo of the finshed quilt top and a photo of the back. This is a semi custom quilt. The smaller flowers were freehand. The large center flower I used a stencil.

The stencil used for the center motif is one of Pat Campbells, I love her stencils. I'm quilting small pebbles around the motif to make the flower stand out. This will be the focal point of the quilt. I will have the quilt complete tomorrow and will post the finished look. Click on photo to enlarge.

BLACK & WHITE LOG CABIN

This is a photo of the border design. I inserted flowers every other block, then swagged and bead board in between the flowers. I will post the finished quilt tomorrow.

MY STUDIO

Nice rainy morning, the air smells so fresh, flowers are in bloom. Don't you just loves Dandelions in the spring ??? The bright yellow against the green grass, I love spring. I thought I would post a photo of my little studio today. This is a before photo, as we are having wood floors installed in a few weeks. I will post the finished look after the install. This was a bedroom which I made into a dining room which we never used, then I decided it would make a perfect place for my longarm. (the quilt on the machine is Ellie's fall quilt)

Black & White Quilt

I'm in the process of quilting another quilt for a friend. She is a beginner at piecing and I'm amaze at the work she has completed. She would like custom quilting on this black & white quilt. Here is a photo of the quilt & one of the designs. The original design has a large motif in the center of the quilt & not the four little ones that are posted here. I will post more photos as I quilt it.

Doodler Week

I have been working on my class project Custom Quilting for MQR all week. "Doodling" This week we are to doodle our design ideas for our quilts. My theme is whimsical, fish, turtles, shells, seaweed, waves, water, etc. When I think I'm almost doodled out, another idea will pop into my head, back to the drawing board. These are just a few of my doodles.

Lesson # 1

Piano bag

This is a tote bag that my grandaughter designed. She put the drawing on paper, then brought it to me and asked if I could make the tote for her. Here is her finished design. Of corse her signature had to be on the bag.

Monday I will start a class using this sailboat quit top. This is a custom quilting class that I'm taking through MQR, which runs for four weeks.

Deb's Quilt
