My Compass

My compass .......   plan on making a quilt with the 18" compass and four little ones, then custom quilt it.  I think a may have ripped out several times until I got a rythm going.   Brenda was a peach,  she even helped pull out all my paper.   What a fun day!!    The fabric I chose was Nuance by Paula Nadelstern for Benartex and Moda Bella white for the background.

Brenda Henning Paper Piece Class

Took a paper piecing class through the Rock Valley Quilt Guild with Brenda Henning.  This was such a fun class, learned the correct way to paper piece.  My friend Jan and sister in law Karen took the class with me.  We had so much fun, went out for dinner, glass of vine, and then went to the quild  for show & tell.   Brenda was the guest speaker for the evening.  Brenda's web site is http://www.bearpawproductions.com/
Sally from Attic Quilts was in our class also.  http://www.atticquilts.com/

Spring Swap 2010

This is a block pattern that Shannon designed for a Spring Swap with the gals on the APQS forum.  We make 12 blocks all the same,  keep one,  and sent the rest to Shannon for distribution.  I will receive 11 blocks back all signed and ready to put together for quilting.   My spring quilt from the APQS gals.  I'm excited!
We are using only spring colors, one fabric needs to be a floral.  The  green needs to stay the same in each block with cream/natural background.

Framed Card Trick

Card Trick

"Card Trick"   Yep! that is the name of this quilt block for my card playing friend.  This is a card group of ladies that play card every thursday for eight hours.  WOW!  The break for lunch and then back at play cards again.  The card game is call "hand and foot".  So when I make a trip to northen Wisconsin I have a fun day with them.   I'm quilting a simple swirl and small background fill that I drew up last night but that doesn't mean that I stay true to my drawings,  sometimes I change my mind when the quilt is on the LA.  Will post when the block  is quilted and framed.  Yes, I going to have the block  framed.
