Wholecloth Design #1

I'm leaning towards this design for my wholecloth, reason why is that it has the French  ironwork, vine, garden look that I'm after.  Does that make sense?????   I have to find tune this design yet and get the fabric ready.  I plan on dying my own fabric (first time ever).   It will probably take me forever with color selection.  I painted one of my rooms 6 times before I got  the color right.   I ended up mixing my own paint to get what I wanted.   I think I drove Lowes nuts!   Will post a photo when the quilt is completed.

The guy Adam that I'm taking this class from,  is very talented.   His works have a little Sharon Schamber flare and I really love their work.   Both are wonderful artist.

Wholecloth Design from Adams Class

Been staying up  late sketching designs for Adams class,  my eyes are getting a little red, no sleep.  I have so many designs in my head that I have to put them on paper, whewww!   This design I might work up into a show quilt after I tweak it.    I think it is time to take a rest and get some work done around here.  Need to get the porch stained and put back together.

Another Design

I don't think I will use any of these desings in my wholecloth quilt.  I think I want more organic.  Hummmm!

Wholecloth Designs

A few more sketches from my wholecloth class.   My goodness the one looks like a feathery bug.  There is no way I would use this one my quilt.  It is kind of fun drawing different shapes without using a computer.   This reminds me of the good old collage days. lol

IRISH CHAIN

New project that I'm working on.  Decided to quilt leaves on this Irish Chain quilt pieced by my friend Karen.  The fabric has small flowers and leaves which is the theme for this quilt instead of traditional feathers.  I draw some of the leaves on the quilt to give me a starting point, here is a photo of my drawings, kind of messy but it works for me.  The free hand pattern came from Diane Phillips book.

Getting Ready For Spring

These are some of the items that I pick up this week to redesign my porch.  I was so getting ready to plant a cottage  flower garden  paint the arbor and fence but woke up to this.   SNOW!   Guess I'll quilt today and save painting for another day.

SURPRISE QUILT FOR CHRIS

Just finished this quilt  for my son Chris who is 38 yrs old, ( man they grow up fast ) who likes lots of lovin.  He loves music, his guitar, and has a band name "Fleshpipe".   I don't know what it means but it sounds cool and so does his music.  I decided that he needed a quilt of his own so when he needs a hug he can wrap up in his musical quilt and say mom loves me.  The quilt was fun to make and quilt.  Simple quilting of loops and musical notes with piano key border.  Oh yes! had to applique one of his guitars on the quilt.  He has not seen the quilt yet, so will email him tonight.

Now onto another project.
