Fall Splendor Finished With Crystals

Cut 2 leaves for the label for the back of the quilt

The  crystals give the  quilt a little sparkle

The quilt is going to a very special person next week.   Can hardly wait to see what she thinks of it.

Fall Splendor Off The Frame

Fall Splendor  off the frame tonight.     Used adding machine tape to mark my registration points

Thread play

Used King Tut thread for a little more texture

That big maple leaf would make a great label for the back.

Weekend binding

Thinking I will use some McTavishing for the background fill to make the leaves standout,  so they look like the are falling off the quilt when it is hanging.......     Using Black
So Fine for the fill.

Binding and crystals tomorrow and in the mail next week.
A give away......
When I saw this at one of the show I was blown away with it.    It was just one of those that you just had to have to work on.    I love the ribbon work,  it really adds to the art quilt.   This is one of   Lennie Honcoop patterns.    www.DutchQuilter.com      She is a fiber artist from the Netherlands.  Lennie's floral work is sooooooo   amazing.     I was in just awe looking at her work at the show.

Green/White Toile Quilt For DIL

My DIL collects green and white transfer ware.......      found six pieces today at an antique shop.  I think she might like these.    I also started her with a red set of transfer ware which I borrowed for Christmas this year to go along with my decorations........

She also wanted a quilt to go along with her pieces to decorate the house for Christmas.   Another find at the Textile Mill Outlet.

This was a good top to practice feathers......     Played around with Jamie Wallen feathers

I not sure I like all that thread look......   (to much thread for me)
I used King Tut for texture and I guess I really got it.   DIL wanted a lighter green thread on the back.   The thread was variegated also......     It was great for the front as it didn't take away from the toile.

Anyway she loves it......     Will deliver it in a couple of weeks

DIL talked me out of these ......    Now I need to make a couple more to sell.

Molly Mouse Quilt For Granddaughter

I love this little mouse!!  I think this picture is from Millie and Tillie country mouse book.

I had a new granddaughter born May 23rd,  so I decided that she needed some little mice in her life.   I found this panel at a Textile Mill Outlet in Eau Claire,  Wisconsin.    It was a perfect print to go along with the little mouse book.

Used a mouse stencil in the border and through out the quilt.

Then I decided that she needed a rag doll to carry around when she gets older.   I want it to look something like the mouse in the picture but more like a baby.

Looked for a rag doll mouse on the Internet but no such luck.   Decided to draw my own pattern.  Never tried this before,  not very good at sewing it together just a drawing.....    so wish me luck.

Of course we had to have a doll quilt to match......

need to add the pink binding

Pumpkin Delight

Dupioni Silk -  the photo doesn't do it justice.    It is a beautiful rust color with a sheen of purple.
I marked my design that I drew back in 2010,  finally getting  it on fabric.    It is a little hard to see the marking.    I'm thinking about using a purple thread for the center pumpkin and match the background fill same as the fabric.

Playing around with the mirror.....   that would make a pretty quilting design.

I'm still working on my new  blog   White By Dzine
