Flea Market Find

This was a flea market find by accident ..... I went looking for linens for the book case and just happen to see this print.    It was a must have to go along with the rest of the Christmas decor ....this little baby is going to hang above the book case.   Never did find the linens...lol

My Christmas Quilt

This is the most BEAUTIFUL fabric and I decided that I would make a Christmas quilt to match my ornaments .... so my plans for Thanksgiving evening and this weekend will piece the top and quilt it next week.   I don't usually get excited over fabric but this was just singing to me.   The photo is an evening shot and dose not show the color off that will.   Once the top is pieced will post before I start quilting it.   Haven't decided just how I will quilt this yet ..... something elegant for sure.

Finished this little Cowboy quilt yesterday .....  another little gift for one lucky boy.     How do you like the little cowboy hats???

Gettng Ready For Christmas

This is the first year that I have started getting ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving.   My daughter invited me over for turkey this year ...... I don't have to cook.   Usually all the kids are home but this year no cooking.   I will of course make some pies.. have to have the smell in the kitchen.   I decided that I would start getting ready for the big day.    My theme this year will be Winter White with a touch of soft pink.  I would love to paint all the furniture white too but that is to much work,  so I will just keep things simple.

Here are some photos of what I was doing today .... once I get the house finished with all the trimmings I will  show you.    The fabric will be my Winter quilt that I will piece next weekend then quilt it the following week.

I love these pink ornaments,  they came from Michael's.

Recycled flowers .... just adding a pink ribbon and sparkly green from Michaels ($.39) These will go on the Christmas tree with the soft pink ornaments.

The bird feeder came from Home Goods.   Cute!   A must have..lol

Ronda Rulers

These little darling's came to me on Monday,  same day as the mini quilt, so they took a back seat until today.   I haven't even open them yet as I need to finish decorating the house before I can play with them.   I will practice first .... them use them on the Tulip quilt.   I came  up  with a different quilting design for the quilt.
Can't you just see the cross hatching ..... spines for feathers, etc?????

Mini Quilt From Ontario

What a surprise I had today....... I  knew UPS was delivering my Ronda rulers today but did not know that a second package would be delivered also.    When I saw that it was from Ontario I knew it was a little quilt.   The packages sat on the  porch for over an hour while I was cleaning getting ready to decorate for Christmas.   When I finally went to the door to get the package,  there were two.   What excitement.... dropped all the house work,  open the package, got out the camera and started taking pictures.   What an absolute gorgeous mini quilt.   The quilting is sooooo beautiful ......everything about it is wonderful.   The quilt came from Tracy in Ontario.    The APQS forum had a mini quilt swap that we signed up for.   We had no idea of who would send us a quilt.  We email our preferences to a co-ordinator and then were given the details of whom we were to make a quilt for.   This is my very first quilt ever as a gift and it came from  Tracy.   This will be treasured for ever.    I can not believe the work that went into this quilt.  I love the dresden  plate blocks.   This is so perfect for my little cottage....
Also Tracy sent a few special gifts along with the mini ..... darling apple pincushin,  thread,  beautiful fabric which I will make a quilt with it and a quilt journal that will travel with me for my doodles and designs.
Thank you again Tracy for such a lovely gift.

New Project on the Drawing Board

Drawing up a quilting  pland for this tulip quilt .... I will draw up several then decided how I want the to look.    These are my first set.

Little Girl Pink

Took a break from the LA ........ went to the sewing room and pieced two quilt tops.   I decided it was time to move some of my stash .    " Little Girl Pink" is what I'm naming the quilt.   I love paper dolls and so does the granddaughters.   The pattern came from Fons & Porter Magazine 2009.

                                   Added a 6 1/2 border to this panel for a cute practice quilt.
